COUNTRY TROUBADOURS? FOLK TORCH-BEARERS? BLUEGRASS PURISTS?

NOT QUITE! NO UNION CARDS HAVE BEEN PUNCHED IN ALLEGIANCE TO THE LABELS MENTIONED ABOVE,
YET THE TENNESSEE WARBLERS DRAW INSPIRATION FROM EACH OF THEIR TIME-TESTED PIPES.

Born of the seeds planted by the acoustic music of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, the Warblers perform roots music with a rock n’ roll heart. If you were to sit an astute Musicophile stage front they would be quick to note rootsy originals peppered with covers ranging from blues and bluegrass standards to takes on tunes by Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead and many others. All that to say, these four musicians have a great respect for American music but come at it in a non-traditional way.

After pickin’ together in various Nashville groups, John Beck (Vocals & Mandolin) and Adam Dalton (Vocals & Guitar) got together for a Nashville co-write in Winter 2014. The date marked the birth of their song “Restless” and the genesis of what would become the Tennessee Warblers. Longtime musical compadre Dean Marold (Upright Bass) soon joined the fold to add some much needed bass bottom and they were off to the races. After performing as a trio for the better part of 2014, mutli-instrumentalist Charles Butler (Banjo & Dobro) joined the group and brought with him many musical ideas and textures helping drive the group to new heights.

On April, 9th, 2016 they released their debut EP of which the Murfreesboro Pulse called "a solid debut peppered with well-played instrumental breaks, and recommended for fans of Americana and Southern folk." The Warblers make regular appearances at the Sutler Saloon as part of their weekly Bluegrass Brunch; it was there they appeared in an episode of the Travel Channel's FOOD PARADISE.

From their first gig at the Tennessee Brew Works to their performances at the Hoedown on the Harpeth Bluegrass Festival and annual Nashville Predators’ Craft Beer Festival at the Bridgestone Arena, the Warblers have stayed true to their mission to pull from the best of American roots music while also keeping a keen eye to the future. The group is currently working on their first full length album and frequently perform in and around the Nashville area.
